1. 본인 소개를 해달라
이름은 Laura Natalia Franco Neira. 콜롬비아 출신이다. 나는 주변 사람들과 늘 상호작용하는 성격이다. 내가 살고 누리는 환경에서 벌어지는 일에 관심을 기울인다. 내 고국의 문화를 사랑한다. 나의 콜롬비아 뿌리와 전통을 발견할 수 있기에, 민속춤에 관련된 것을 좋아한다. 콜롬비아 전통에만 관심이 있는 것이 아니다. 나는 세계의 뉴스와 패션에 관심이 많은 젊은 현대여성이다. 여가 시간에는 해외 패션트렌드와 최신 뉴스에 대한 정보를 많이 찾아본다. 미국 텍사스 주의 Southwestern Adventist Univ. 에서 ESL 과정을 2012년에 수료했다. 영어실력을 갖추어 전문적인 직업인으로 성장하고 싶었다. 런던의 INTO University of East Anglia에서 비즈니스와 경제학 파운데이션과정을 이수했다. 비즈니스 세계의 원칙을 이해하는데 도움이 되었다. 이렇게 사전 학습 과정에서 여러 사람을 만나고 다양한 문화를 경험할 수 있었다.
2. 왜 패션을 공부하게 되었나?
오늘 날 패션은 인생의 여러 면에 영향을 끼치는 필수적인 도구가 되었다고 생각한다. 자유를 표현하는 방식이 되기도 하고 성공적인 커리어를 이루기 위해 사회가 선택하는 혁신적인 첨단의 도구이기도 하다. 패션분야에는 많은 긍정적인 요소가 있다. 다른 사람들은 패션이라는 단어에서 전문가, 전문성을 떠올릴지 모르지만, 나는 콜롬비아를 떠올린다. 콜롬비아는 주요 가죽제품 수출국 중 하나이다. 당연히 나는 패션에 있어서 가죽원단 사용을 위주로 생각하고 있다.

3. 한국으로 온 이유는 무엇인가? 많은 패션스쿨 중 에스모드 서울을 선택한 이유는?
최근 몇 년 사이에 나는 한국의 문화에 관심을 가지게 되었다. 한국은 무역, 비즈니스, 첨단기술 분야에서 세계적인 위치에 있다. 매년 많은 이들이 한국을 방문하고 한국의 문화와 역사, 언어를 배운다. 지난 10년 동안, 한국은 엔터테인먼트, 셀러브리티, 뮤직, 패션이 연결되어 신선하고 새로운 스타일을 창조하는, 진정한 허브로 거듭났다. 케이팝, TV 드라마, 영화 등의 영향으로 한국의 패션이 아시아뿐만 아니라 서양의 소비자들의 마음을 사로 잡았다. 에스모드서울에서 공부하여 사회, 문화적인 배경과 아름다움을 갖춘 디자인을 개발하고 한국의 문화와 라틴아메리카 스타일을 결합한 고유의 디자인을 전개하고 싶다. 에스모드를 졸업하고 내 브랜드를 운영하고자 하는 꿈을 이루기 위해 노력할 것이다.

4. 에스모드 서울에서의 생활은 어떠한가?
에스모드 서울에서 학업을 한지 2개월 정도 되었다. 짧은 기간이지만 정말 많은 것을 하고, 배웠다. 내 인생 최고의 경험 중 하나라고 말할 수 있다. 늘 꿈꿔왔던 것을 하면서, 훌륭한 교수진이 내가 패션디자이너의 길을 자랑스럽게 갈 수 있도록 도와주고 영감을 준다. 한국에서 교육받고 에스모드 서울의 소속이 된다는 사실이 기쁘다.

5. 에스모드 서울의 가장 좋은 점은?

신문, 잡지, 웹사이트 등에 옷과 패션액세서리에 대해 기사를 쓰는, 패션에디터에 관심이 많다. 패션쇼에 참석하고 패션디자인과 트렌드에 대해 공부함과 동시에, 글쓰기에 대한 나의 열정을 결합하여, 패션에 대한 특정 주제에 대해 글을 쓰겠다. 패션산업분야에서 일하고 싶기도 하고, 가죽제품을 중심으로 한 내 브랜드를 운영하고 싶기도 하다.

7. 좋아하는 디자이너는?
Alexander McQueen에게 큰 영감을 받는다. 그의 작품은 유쾌하면서 독창적이다. 그의 창작방식이나 아이디어 전달 방식은 매우 영감을 준다.
8. 한국과 고국의 패션, 어떻게 다른가?
두 나라의 패션은 매우 다르다. 특히 날씨가 달라서 패션에 그 차이가 반영된다. 콜롬비아는 더운 나라다 보니 산뜻한 패션이 주를 이룬다. 두 나라의 문화가 차이가 나서 패션에 있어서도 큰 차이가 있는 것 같다.

1. Introduce yourself (Name, Country, Background etc…)
My name is Laura Natalia Franco Neira. I am from Colombia My personality is mainly based on the interaction with the people around me. I am always looking to be aware of the situations that happen within my social and cultural environment. I am a person surrendered to the culture of my country. I like to participate in all that relates to the folk dances because through them I can rediscover my Colombian roots and traditions. Apart from participating in all that concerns the Colombian folklore, I am also a young modern woman who has interest in world news and fashion media as well. In my free time my intent is to inform myself with what is happening around the world, focusing on the latest fashion and social with the interest of learning more about international Fashion trends. Previously, I completed an ESL course in Southwestern Adventist University in Kenne, Texas in which I graduated in 2012. I have taken this course to improve my English level so that I can gain more knowledge and preparation to become a professional. In addition I finished a foundation course in Business and Economics with the emphasis on Society and Culture at INTO University of East Anglia, London. This course was very beneficial in preparing me to understand the principles of the business world. This advance preparation has led me to good things and has given me the opportunity to meet different people from around the world and experience various cultures.
2. The reason that you're studying FASHION?
Fashion today has become a necessary tool to reach satisfaction in different aspects of human life; starting from the possibility to choose it as a way of expression of freedom that exceeds borders to the inclusion of innovative and cutting-edge ideas in which society can adopt as a lifestyle in order to achieve a lasting successful career. There are many positive elements that can be taken when doing an inclusion in the fashion field. Namely, when you think of this word, the mind is directly transferred to the word professionalism. As I always look to stand out and take advantage of all the positive things about Colombia. It could be said that Colombia is one of the main exporters in leather goods. Thus my interest in fashion and manipulation of the textile leather is one of my main reach goals.
3. Why KOREA? Why ESMOD SEOUL?
Over the last few years, my interest in Korean culture has grown because South Korea occupies a significant place on the global stage in international trade, business and technology. Every year there is a growing demand for people who visit Korea to live and learn about their history, culture and language. Over the past decade, South Korea has been positioned at the most lucrative of crossroads where entertainment, celebrity, music and fashion combine to create a fresh and new style. There is no doubt that the influence of K-Pop, popular Korean Television shows and movies wave have encouraged the appeal in Korea's fashion market among Asian and Western consumers alike. Studying at Esmod Seoul will help me to create designs that reflect socio-cultural and aesthetic and also to develop a combination between Korean culture and Western Latin-American style making unique designs with a mixture of colors. Graduating from Esmod it would benefit my future in attaining my dream job, creating my own company and having a better quality of life. I am sure this process will help me in the development as a person and future professional.
4. How was your life at ESMOD SEOUL?
It’s been only two months since we started to study at the institute but even so, I have gain a lot of knowledge in this short period of time; I have done and learned a lot. At the moment it’s been one of my best experiences, I am doing what I always wanted to do and having by my side such as good professors on my way to become a fashion designer makes proud and very pleased not only as a person but as a future professional to study in a country that gives more than knowledge and education such as South Korea mainly speaking so proud to become part of Esmod Seoul.
5. The best thing of ESMOD SEOUL?
The professors and the staff, I would like to highlight that Professors helps us become thoughtful and productive members of society. In addition Professors at Esmod are there to inspire Even if there is too much homework and too many work, I take a moment to think how important Professors are. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Professors are very knowledgeable on the specific subjects they teach. However, it takes a helpful and dedicated individual to be able to teach effectively, through this way and emphasizing the short period of time that I have been attending to Esmod. I would like to express my gratitude how they supported, challenge, inspire me and shape me as a student and as a person
6. Your final destination is a FASHION DESIGNER? If yes, describe (or imagine) your future. If no, what do you want to do?
I have always been interest about fashion journalism field, writing about clothing and accessories for newspapers, magazines, and websites. Attending fashion shows and study designer trends and highlighting my passion about writing I could express through it my opinion about specific subjects, I would like to work in that industry and also make my own company about leather goods.
7. Your Favorite designer? Why?
Lee Alexander McQueen, I feel really inspirited by him, his work art in my opinion is delightful, unique, the way he creates and transferred his own ideas and art is so inspirational.
8. KOREAN fashion VS. Your Country’s fashion, what's it like?
By compering these two fashions, it could be say that there are so different from each other, standing out the difference about the weather of each country makes the fashion the opposite, as Colombia does not have seasons makes the fashion more fresh. Also it could be impale the differences of cultures of each country has a lot to do in the fashion subject.
